The grand prize winner can choose between a 1953 Farmall Super C antique tractor, a John Deere X350 riding mower or $2,500 cash. Second prize $500 in groceries, third prize $500 in fuel, & fourth prize $250 in Farm Bureau Bucks. Winners will be drawn at Touch-A-Tractor on April 9. Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25. Applications Available for 2017-18 Scholarships and Internships College students and high school seniors pursuing a degree in an agricultural related field are invited to apply for Kane County Farm Bureau Foundation scholarships and internships. The Kane County Farm Bureau Foundation offers several scholarships to members or dependents of members who wish to pursue higher education in an agricultural related field. Farm Bureau internships are also available for the winter, spring and summer breaks in 2016-17. All Applications and information can be found here or picked up at the KCFB office.
National Chili Day Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser February 23rd Calling all Chili Cook-Off Cooks and hungry participants! Have a chili recipe that everyone loves? Why not show off your culinary skills by entering in the KCFB Foundation's first ever National Chili Day Cook-Off on February 23rd. Prizes from four categories will be awarded: Homestyle, Non-Traditional, Wildlife, and Vegetarian. Cost to enter is $15 per 6 quarts of chili registered to one category for KCFB members, or $25 for non-members. Judging at 4:30, sampling at 5:00 for a $5 donation. Young Farmers Receive High Honors Congratulations to the Kane County Farm Bureau Young Farmers committee on being named the winner of two Illinois Farm Bureau awards. They won the Most Outstanding Young Farmer Project and the IFB Harvest for ALL (for the 15th consecutive year). Projects are submitted by the end of August, and then evaluated blind by 3 evaluators. Those selected as most outstanding projects or project winners will be recognized at the IFB Annual Meeting in the Exhibit Hall during a December 4 Awards Ceremony, and with a certificate.
